Visa/Passports
Passports are valid for at least three months beyond intended stay. 31 day entry visas are granted to North Americans on arrival in Fiji.

Currency
The Fijian dollar is the basic unit of currency. Notes available in $2, $5, $10, $20 and $50. Coins: 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c and 50c.
Banking
Banks are oopen for customer assistance from 09.30am to 3.00pm Monday to Thursday and 09.30am to 4.00pm on Friday. They are closed on the weekends.
Credit Cards
Major credit cards are widely accepted: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club.
Tipping
While tipping is not encouraged here, it is your choice to decide whether to give a gratuity.
Electricity
220-240 volts, 50 Hz, 3 pin flat plug is the standard. You will need a voltage converter if the applicable is 110 volts. Most leading resorts and hotels offer universal outlets for 240 volt or 110 volt hair dryers, shavers etc.

Language
English is the official language of Fiji. Fijian and Hindustani are also common.
Clothes
Casual, informal dress. T-shirts or golf shirts with shorts and slacks are appropriate for men, as are sun dresses, skirts, slacks, and blouses for women. Visitors are asked to be careful not to offend local sensibilities. Bikini and ultra-brief swim wear is acceptable at hotels and resorts but not when shopping in towns and cities or when visiting villages.
Time Zone
Fiji is situated west of the international dateline, and is 12 hours ahead of GMT, making it 20 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time
