With a spectacular coastline that spans the state’s entire length, sailing, boating and cruising opportunities in Western Australia abound in number and diversity. Thousands of kilometres of coastline, hundreds of nearby islands, varied marine life, a mix of tropical and temperate climates and numerous shipwrecks just offshore, the diving and snorkeling is unbeatable, and visitors can get up close to some of the gentlest and most intriguing creatures of the sea such as dolphins, dugongs and whalesharks.

Western Australia’s reputation as a gourmet paradise continues to travel across the globe. With more cafes per head than any other city in the world, no-one ever goes hungry. For generations, the warm climate and ideal soil conditions of the Swan Valley and Margaret River areas have drawn winemakers from around the globe. Now, Western Australia’s wineries are recognized as some of the best in the world, and extend from the Chapman Valley near Geraldton to the far south coast.

Much of the State’s interior is dry, but its coastal regions are laced with hundreds of spectacular rivers, estuaries, wetlands and salt lakes. The State also boasts more than 75 national parks, some with walk and bike trails, allowing visitors to get up close to the State’s remarkable natural gifts. As well as rugged outback terrain and pure white beaches of the Coral Coast region, visitors can see a large variety of wildflowers, over 12,000 to be exact.
